This is almost exact to the taste of the sauce in the packets from Arby’s. I did not make mine as sweet but you can easily add more brown sugar or corn syrup to your recipe if you want the same sweet taste.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 C Ketchup
5T Water
1 Jalapeno
1 Red Bell Pepper
3T Cider Vinegar
2T Brown Sugar
2T Corn Syrup
1 1/2 tsp. Chipotle Tabasco Sauce
1T Yellow Mustard
1/4 tsp. Honey
1/4 tsp. Paprika
1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp. Onion Powder
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Liquid Smoke
Pepper to taste
Directions:
-Heat oven to 350 degrees, place jalapeno and bell pepper on foil lined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, bake 10 minutes, flip and bake 10 more minutes. Remove peppers from oven and place them in plastic bag (I use an old bread bag), seal bag closed and allow to cool from 15 minutes.
-Once peppers are cooled, remove the skin of both peppers, remove top (stem area) and devein and deseed. Cut into larger pieces and place in food processor. Pulse until finely chopped but not pureed.
-Place chopped peppers and all other ingredients in pot, bring mixture to boil, reduce to simmer, cover and cook 12 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool before eating, Enjoy!
