Caramel Brownies with Pretzels

This is a super easy recipe, that is super rich.  Everyone that tried them, loved them.


1 Box Ghirardelli Triple Fudge Brownie Mix

11 oz. Bag Caramels, unwrapped

14 oz. Can Sweet Condensed Milk

1 Stick Butter (unsalted)

2-3 C Pretzels (I used the small square ones, amount will depend on shape)


-Mix brownie per package directions.  Grease and parchment line a 11X7 inch glass baking sheet.  Pour in some of the brownie mix (enough to lightly cover bottom of pan), top with single layer of brownies.  Pour in remaining brownie mix.  Bake 325 for 20 minutes.

-While brownies are baking, combine milk, butter and caramel in pot.  Melt and stir often to prevent burning over medium heat.

-Pour caramels over brownies.  Using butter knife lightly stir caramel into top of brownie mix (don’t over mix).  Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until mixture is stiff (it will move a bit but you don’t want giggling like jello).

-Allow to cool completely, cut (I suggest small bite size pieces, these are rich).  Enjoy!
