Bratwurst Stew

This is a great recipe to use bratwurst that are cooked or uncooked.  Plus its a great way to add vegetables to the meal.  My family loved this stew, so I think its safe to say its a great recipe.


4 C Beef Broth

4 C Vegetable Broth (can use more beef, I like the flavor veg. adds)

5 Bratwurst, sliced thin (can used cooked see note*)

1 Yellow Onion, diced small

1 1/2 C Canned Diced Tomatoes, in-drained

1 1/2 C Finely Diced Cabbage

4 Cloves Garlic, minced

2 (15.5 oz) Cans Cannellini Beans, drained and rinsed

3 Carrots, diced or sliced thin

1 Celery Stalk, diced

2 T Fresh Basil, finely diced

1 T Worcestershire Sauce

1 T Fresh Tarragon, finely diced

1 T Fresh Thyme, leaves only

1 Sprig Dill

1/2 T Fresh Oregano, diced small

1 1/2 tsp. Italian Seasoning

Salt and Pepper to taste


-Add all ingredients to large pot, bring to boil over high heat.  Allow to boil 5 minutes.  Reduce temperature to low boil.  Cover and coo 1 hour or until bratwurst are fully cooked and veggies are soft.

*if using already cooked add in soup that last 20 minutes or cook time.
