Beef Brisket in BBQ Gravy Over Rice

This is one of my favorite ways to cook beef brisket.  I cant resist a good bbq meat, and my kids cant eat enough of this.

Ingredients:

3 C Beef Broth

1 1/2 C BBQ Sauce

3 T Worcestershire Sauce

1/4 C Red Onion, diced

3 Cloves Garlic, chopped

1 tsp. Brown Sugar

1 tsp. Paprika

2 lb. Beef Brisket (fat removed)

Salt

Gravy:

1/2 C Butter

1/2 C Flour

5 C Broth

1 T Sweet Mustard

1/4 C Ketchup

1 T Brown Sugar

1 C Finely Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Directions:

-Coat brisket in salt, place in crockpot, along with other ingredients.  Cook low 8-10 hours.  Remove meat and allow to rest prior to shredding, strain broth for gravy.

-In large pot over medium low heat melt butter, whisk in flour to create roux, slowly whisk in broth, ensure roux dissolves.  Add in mustard, brown sugar and ketchup, stir in cheese, and simmer until melted.  Add in shredded brisket and allow to simmer 5-10 minutes.

-I love this served over this rice recipe https://junecleaver21stcenturystyle.wordpress.com/2017/04/25/garlic-and-cabbage-rice/, but its great served over any rice or pasta.  Enjoy!
