Fennel Pasta Sauce



2 T Butter

1 Medium Shallot, minced

1 Clove Garlic, minced

1 Fennel Bulb, cored and diced

24 oz. Red Sauce https://junecleaver21stcenturystyle.wordpress.com/2013/09/16/homemade-red-marinara-sauce/

4 oz. Water

1 tsp. Sugar

Salt and Pepper to taste


-Over medium heat in medium pot, melt butter, add in fennel, shallot and garlic.  Cook until veggies start to brown.

-Pour in remaining ingredients, bring to simmer, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

-If you want less chunky, use an immersion blender or blender to smooth out sauce.  Enjoy!
