Cabbage Rice



3 C Chicken Broth

1 C Water

2 tsp. Onion Powder

2 tsp. Granulated Garlic

1 T Rendered Bacon Fat (can use butter)

Salt and Pepper

2 C Basmati Rice

3 T Butter

4C Cabbage, chopped

Salt and Pepper

1 C Green Peas


-In pot combine broth, water, onion, garlic, bacon fat, salt and pepper.  Bring to boil, add rice cook about 18 minutes.  Remove from heat, and allow to sit 5 minutes.  Fluff rice with fork.

-In large skillet over medium high heat melt butter.  Add in cabbage, dusted with salt and pepper.  Cook 15 mintues, stirring often or until cabbage is wilted and golden brown.  Add in peas and heat through.

-When rice is cooked and rested, add in cabbage mixture.  Enjoy!
