Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

I don’t know why I haven’t posted this recipe before, but here it is now.  I always have overripe bananas, no matter how many my tiny humans eat, there are always bread worthy ones left.  This recipe is amazing and my kids love it since it full of chocolate chips.  This is an easy recipe that will surely make your family happy to eat.



1/2 C Unsalted Butter (1 stick), softened

1 1/4 C Sugar

2 Eggs

1/2 C Buttermilk

1 tsp. Vanilla

4 Overripe Bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 C)

2 1/2 C All Purpose Flour*

1 tsp. Baking Soda

1 tsp. Salt

1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

1 C Chocolate Chips


-In large bowl, mix sugar and butter together with hand mixer.  Add in eggs, and beat until well incorporated.

-Beat in buttermilk, vanilla and bananas, ensure well blended.

-Beat in flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon until dry ingredients are moist.  Stir in chocolate chips.

-Grease 9X5 inch bread pan, pour batter into pan.  Bake 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

-Cool pan 10-12 minutes on wire rack, run butter knife around edges, flip out and allow to cool completely before slicing (if you can wait that long).


*If using self rising flour you will not need baking soda and salt.
