Bacon Cheddar Grits



3 Slices Bacon, diced

1/8 C Sweet Onion, diced small

1C Cheddar Cheese, shredded

1/2 C Grits

3/4 C Heavy Cream

1 1/4 C Milk

1/2 tsp. Cajun Seasoning

1/16 tsp. Dried Thyme

1/ 8tsp. Dried Ground Sage

Salt and Pepper to taste


-In large pan, over medium heat, cook bacon, when partially done, add in onion.  Cook until bacon is done and crispy and onion is translucent.

-Pour in heavy cream, milk, thyme, sage, salt and pepper, and cheese.

-Stir in grits, allow to come to boil, simmer and cover, reduce heat, stirring on occasion, until thick and creamy about 15 minutes. Can top with additional  shredded cheese and bacon if you desire. Enjoy warm!
