Bacon Gravy

This recipe has multiple options.  You can add some ingredients for a general purpose gravy, or others to go great over biscuits.  The options and flavors are endless to match any meal.



3 Pieces Bacon, cut up

3 T Bacon Grease

3T Flour (can use GF)

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 1/4 C Chicken Broth*

1/2 C Milk*

Dash Turmeric (optional)

Dash Onion Powder and/or Garlic Powder (optional)


-Fry bacon pieces until crisp, remove from pan and place on paper towel lined plate.

-Heat bacon grease in pot over medium/low heat.  Whisk in flour to create roux.  Add broth and milk.  Whisk well to incorporate roux into liquids.

-Add seasonings of choice.  Stir in bacon pieces.  Enjoy warm!

*If you want a general purpose gravy, just use broth.  To make biscuit style gravy just use milk.
