Copycat Outback Steakhouse Green Beans

I am personally not a huge fan of Outback’s Green Beans, but I tried to recreate their recipe in a version that I actually enjoyed.



1 lb. Fresh Green Beans

4T Butter

2 T Brown Sugar

1tsp. Soy Sauce

1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder

1/4 tsp. Salt (or to taste)

1/4tsp. Fresh Ground Black Pepper (or to taste)


-Cut ends off of green beans, can cut beans in half if you wish for smaller pieces.  Steam them until done, but still crunchy.  I placed mine in a steam basket for about 12 minutes, but time may vary depending on stove and how big around beans are.  Can also steam in microwave if you desire.

-In small saucepan, over low heat, melt butter.  Stir in remaining ingredients until sugar is melted and all other ingredients are well blended.

-Pour sauce over green beans, serve immediately.
