Skillet Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon



1 Box Macaroni (I used radiatori)

4-6 Slices Bacon, cooked crisp, crumbled

1/3 C Vegetable of Choice (I used cabbage, but spinach and broccoli is great)

3 T Butter

3T Flour

2 C Milk

2C Cheese, shredded (I used mix of mozzarella and cheddar)

1 tsp. Salt

Hot Sauce to taste

1/2T Ground Mustard

1/3 C Cheddar, set aside

1/4 C Panko Bread Crumbs


-Cook pasta 2 min. less than minimum on box, drain set aside.

-In small saucepan over medium/low heat, melt butter, whisk in flour, form paste.  Stir in milk slowly, stirring often to ensure paste dissolves.  Stir in mustard, hot sauce and salt.  Slowly add 2 c Cheese.  Once melted and fully incorporated stir in bacon crumbles and veggies. Pour over pasta.

-Place in cast iron, bake 350 about 18 minutes.  Top with 1/3C Cheese and bread crumbs.  Broil about 5 minutes or until panko is browned. Enjoy.
