1lb. Brussels Sprouts (washed, cut in half, if large may want to quarter them)
1T Olive Oil
2 Slices Of Bacon, cut into about 1 in. pieces
2 Sprigs of Thyme
1tsp. Garlic Salt (seasoning or regular salt are fine)
1 Onion, cut small
1-2 tsp. Lemon Juice (amount depends on taste)
Ground Pepper to taste
- Steam Brussels sprouts about 5 minutes.
Cook bacon in large skillet about 5 minutes. You want it to be brown but not crispy.
Remove bacon and set aside. Pour olive oil, salt and pepper in pan, place onion in pan, cook until soft but not brown.
4. Add Brussels sprouts, cook about 3 minutes or until tender. Add in bacon, thyme and lemon juice. Coat everything well.
I get my kiddos to eat these by putting cheese on them, but they are good without it.
