1lb. Hamburger Meat (we use deer-burger in our household)
1 Small Onion, chopped small
2 Cloves Garlic, minced
1tsp. Seasoning Salt
3C Milk or Heavy Cream
1C Water, cold
1 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
1/2tsp. Ground Mustard
1 tsp. Cajun Seasoning (I use Weber’s N’Olreans Cajun)
1/2tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1tsp. Frank’s Hot Sauce(optional)
Salt and Pepper to taste
- In large saucepan over medium heat, mix seasoning salt over hamburger, onion and garlic. Cook until onions are tender and meat is done(try and break up and chunks of hamburger, smaller pieces make for a prettier sauce when complete). Remove from pan and set aside.
- Without cleaning pan, melt butter over medium-low heat, then add in flour, mixing into paste with whisk to make a roux. Slowly add in milk, stirring well. Bring to boil, reduce heat to low and let simmer 5-7 minutes, this allows it to thicken. Mix in seasonings, once cream sauce is made, add in meat mixture and stir well. Enjoy.
-Best served over toast, but can serve over mashed potatoes, noodles or even rice.
