Old Fashioned Pound Cake

This is a dense cake, but it is so good no one will mind.

1 lb of Butter (4 sticks)
1 lb of Sugar (abt 2 1/4C)
1/2tsp Salt
1 T Vanilla Flavoring
8 eggs
1 lb Flour (about 3 3/4-4 C)

Preheat oven to 300
Butter and flour pan-set aside
Mix butter on low until fluffy
add in sugar until incorporated
Add in salt and Vanilla until incorporated
Add eggs one at a time
Add flour about 1 C at a time till incorporated
Pour batter into pan, smooth top
Cook about 2 hours or until skewer poked through top comes out clean

*don’t remove cake too soon or it will be more like a  pudding cake than the consistency you want
