It is called a creepy crust cobbler, because as the dough bakes it creeps up over the filling
1/2C Butter *one stick
1C Flour
1C Sugar
1tsp of baking powder *omit if using self-rising flour
1/2C Milk
1 Can of fruit filling for pies
-Place whole stick of butter in a 10 inch baking dish I like to use a clear one so I can watch crust rise
-Place pan in oven as it heats to 375 degrees, leave pan in oven until butter is fully melted and starting to bubble
-In a bowl add flour, sugar, milk, and baking powder, whisk together until smooth
-Once butter is melted, pour batter into buttery pan (reserve approx 2T of batter), make sure batter is even in bottom of pan DO NOT STIR BATTER
-Spoon fruit into center of batter DO NOT STIR
-Take remaining batter and drop some on top of fruit this makes for a prettier presentation
-Bake for 30 minutes
-Serve warm, great with ice cream
*If using a peach or apple filling you can add 1tsp of cinnamon to batter before adding to pan for added flavor
